consultations | treatments

During an Ayurvedic consultation we will have a close look at your health and needs. Together we decide if we’ll focus on nutrition & lifestyle advices, and/or treatments in the form of massage.

It is also possible to book an Ayurvedic massage separately.

nutrition & lifestyle advice

1 consultation – 2 step approach:

Your first consultation will take place in two parts; first we’ll meet for an intake in which we will have an in-depth look at your main health concerns and habits. Here I’ll try to get a good understanding of the dynamics at play and we’ll set a therapeutic goal.

Then after approximately one week we will get together again and I’ll explain my recommendations, these will include nutrition, lifestyle, exercise, recipes and daily routine. You’ll get a print-out of these. And we’ll also have plenty of time for your questions.

· intake – 90 minutes – in person / online, Dutch / English

· recommendations – 45 minutes – in person / online

costs for both together (135 minutes): 150 euro

About four to eight weeks later it is important to see how your complaints are. We look at how the body has responded to the recommendations and/treatments, make targeted adjustments and decide on the next steps.

· follow-up appointment – 60 minutes: 80 euro

· short follow-up appointment – 30 minutes: 40 euro

treatments | massage

Massage is an important line of treatment in Ayurveda. The skin, our biggest sense organ, absorbs the medicinal qualities of the plants used during the massage, and helps nourish or cleanse our body. There are many nuances to an Ayurvedic massage based on your constitution, your health complaints and the seasons. Together we may choose for a whole body massage (head to toe), or we can focus on a specific area of your body (for example the back).

In general I now offer two different treatments:

· oil massage; for people who would benefit from a more nourishing treatment, or typically in Autumn/Winter. For the oil massage I will use my own handcrafted infused herbal oils (see shop) or traditional Ayurvedic medicinal oils.

To further promote the absorption of the oil and for deeper relaxation, a massage can be supplemented with a steam treatment. After the massage, a special steam tent is placed over the massage table while the head remains outside.

· dry powder massage; for people who would benefit from a lightening treatment, or typically in Spring/early Summer. For the dry powder massage I will use Ayurvedic Udvartana powder.

· pregnancy massage; for pregnant women form week 13 till labour. Massage plays an integral part of Ayurvedic prenatal care. The second trimester is the best moment to start receiving regular massages. The main benefits are: improvement of mood and sleep, lowering heart rate and blood pressure, supporting lymphatic and venous circulation, reducing aches and discomforts, tuning in with your body and baby. Medicated oils suitable for this important phase are used to support you according to the Ayurvedic Tradition.

90 minutes | costs: 120 euro (to keep care accessible: sliding scale for minimum income)

4-ride card: 4x 90 minutes of treatment within 6 months | 440 euro

massage + steam treatment : 105 minutes | costs: 140 euro

Reviews:

“I was mainly looking for guidance in my lifestyle and I got that very clearly from Gwenneth :-) Very nice to be focused on this, I am motivated by the advice and I am also looking forward to the treatments!” S.B

"I’ve started going to the studio more than a year ago and the treatments helped me feel better and relaxed. I enjoy the company of Gwenneth, as well her knowledge and view of Ayurvedic medicine. She is considerate and accommodating, friendly and gentle.” A.M

“Gwenneth listens openly and attentively and adapts her treatment based on what I tell her. She makes sure I feel comfortable and safe and also helps me to really relax and let go. She looks at the (im)balance in your body and life and helps to get things back into balance. She lovingly comes up with ideas and looks and thinks along. I really come to rest and it brings me back to myself. Really recommended!” Y.P
